The Oasis, a popular watering hole at the lake known for its incredible views of the sunset over Lake Travis burned to the ground last night. Lightning is suspected at this point because no other cause of the fire has been found.

I’m bummed. I remember going there as a kid/teenager and watching the sunset while eating Nachos and running up and down the decks. There was this game we used to play where we’d watch the sunset on the bottom deck and then run fast up to the top and try to watch it again. It didn’t ever quite work out. But that didn’t stop us.
Turns out they are rebuilding! The “Starlight Terrace” which they’ve been serving drinks and appetizers on for awhile is open. I hope that the crowds are showing up there to support them.
